Love Your Neighbor

WOW!!!!

There is so much going on this weekend, and I am very happy about all the opportunities that are presenting themselves across the area. I have to say that I am most excited about the chance to love and serve my neighbor in many different capacities, and about the heart for others in need.

Here are a few of the things going on:

The Community Help Center in Jonesborough (Hwy 81--Sulphur Springs) is offering a "Giveaway Day" to anyone and everyone who shows. Basically, it boils down to the fact that they have received so many wonderful donations that they need to make room for the "Spring Line." So, if you need ANYTHING, you might want to swing by. They might just have what you're looking for and they'll give it to you absolutely FREE!!! No strings attatched. For more information call June Gouge at 423-788-0050.

Also, be looking for paper grocery bags in the newspaper this weekend. Second Harvest needs your food donations to help feed the hungry in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Fill your bag full of food, and drop it off at one of the locations specified on the bag. The food drive will last until the 18th. For more information contact Kathy Smith at 423-477-4053.

Anna Hurley's English class at Elizabethton High School continues their service project with a 2nd yard sale! Find your bargain from all sorts of community donations, and know that the proceeds will benefit ARM--a ministry to the homeless in the area. The sale will be in the auxillary gym at Elizabethton High School from 7:o0am-2pm on Saturday. Anything not sold will be taken to the Salvation Army in Johnson City. For more information contact Anna Hurley at EHS 423-547-8015.

I hope you and your family will be able to stop by and support any of these amazing acts of generocity.

'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
