After receiving donations from the community to buy new equipment when theirs was taken from their concession stand in January, the Sulphur Springs baseball league has something else to cheer about...Six bags of equipment were found!!!
Apparently, three young boys happened upon them as they were playing in the woods on Monday, and according to reports, the bags had been there the whole time.
I had a chance to talk with Nancy Kaszuba, the president of the Sulphur Springs Booster Club, and she was very excited to have received the equipment back. This weekend, she and other league officials are going to check to see if the items are salvagable. The boosters have already purchased a lot of new equipment from donations, but hopefully with the newly-found bags, the organization will be able to put the remainder of the money to use for field maintenance.
Thanks for rallying around the kids in their time of need, and celebrating with them in this discovery. The league's new season kicks off April 3rd and will serve about 125 children!
