From the Heart...

"When there seems to be no way, God can make a way."
--3.7.06 Upper Room Devotional

I wish all days could be filled with happiness and bliss, but as life tries to take its toll, sometimes they are filled with emptiness, confusion, and hurt. Circumstances get in the way and try to rob our joy or section our attention from pure love. When that happens (no matter how close you are to God), it can make your prayers feel like they're hitting a brick wall or that they haven't even left your heart. It can feel like your saying the echoes of your soul to to the air or just to hear yourself speak. Those days are the ones where nothing makes sense and you pervade almost a shell-like existence... a fake, plastic person with no real sense of anything.

"I need you now. More than the air I'm breathing. Now. Yes, I'm crying out from the depths of my inmost being. Now. Come have your way with me. Stay close and never leave until your the heart that beats inside of me."
--John David Webster from the song, "Now"

In that space that feels so hollow, I want you to know that God is there. I know it sounds cliche', but I have come to know that as Truth. God is there listening so intently to your groanings, and your hurt...no judgment, or prerequisite...just listening...hearing things that only the Spirit can utter, and tending to the needs in a way that only God could orchestrate. Continue to call. That is where hope is found. Trusting that God loves enough (despite all that is done, all that is happening, and all that is to come) to make order out of chaos once again.

Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-Romans 8:38-39 (NRSV)

I trust you, Lord. Please come, as only You can. Amen.

Chalmer,

I just wanted to let you know that I think it is wonderful that you can reach so many people through WCQR and through this blog and you use it to allow God to speak through you ... to encourage people and use the songs they already love to remind them of God's words. Thank you and God Bless!
