Glory...

This weekend, I had the absolute priviledge of sharing the Casting Crowns concert with you. It was amazing to watch about 5000 plus people pour into Fredom Hall for the express purpose of enjoying some time to forget what was outside those walls and worship. And worship we did!

The sound that came out of that hall when "If We Are the Body" was played, was (for lack of a better word) INSANE! WOW, OH WOW! That was awesome. And it made it even more incredible to know that the song wasn't sung to Casting Crowns, but rather...to each other as a reminder that we are not finished yet, and to God as a rally cry to say, "We want to be better at loving you...forgive us for our shortcomings...and teach us to worship You through loving others." Yeah. Grace abounds, and God is good.

But as incredible that was...that wasn't the entire highlight of my evening. As a matter of fact, there were a few things that touched my life from that night...but most of all was this:

A man came up to thank us for the encouragement that WCQR brings him each and everyday. He introduced himself as Cortney Hensley's father. (More Here) I got a HUGE lump in my throat. I let him know my ties to David Crockett High School, but the only thing after that was "Thank You." There was only one thing that should've been said, and it didn't come out of my mouth. It should have, but it didn't. It will be typed. "Thank you, Lord."

I cannot tell you how much that meant to me to hear that from him. It took so much for him to say that, but I see it now as an act of worship...The song that Casting Crowns played right after meeting him...PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM!!!

I'll never approach my microphone the same way again.

May the God of All Bless and Keep You,
Chalmer

I just wanted to say that you guys are really encouraging. Thanks!!! But, if I HAD to choose a favorite of 88.3, it would be you Chalmer!!!!! My husband I had such a great time at the Casting Crowns concert as well. Neither of us had been to a christian concert before, and WOW did it ever leave an impression on us. I've been a fan of Casting Crowns since they came out with their first album, and just keep falling in love with them all over again with each new song that is released. BUT, after seeing them in person, I hear them on the radio or a CD I'm playing, and can see them in my mind worshiping our Heavenly Father. They are awesome for our God!!!! I just enjoyed feeling the Holy Spirit among so many believers. We were 2nd row arena seats, and I'm so glad to have been able to be a part of such a worship service. THANK YOU LORD!!!!! :o)

Love in Jesus,
Sherry :o)
